Introduced in the year 2000 by Google, Adwords is a service that is available for advertisers to exhibit their advertisement on Google websites. Google relies on keywords and cookies to determine where the ads will be placed on their sites. Google invites bids; and after careful consideration, the ads are posted where they seem relevant. Marketers have to make payments only when users click on the ads. Partner sites also get a share of the revenue earned.
Google’s Adwords program entails local, national and international listings. It is included under pay-per-click adverts.
